This piece was produced at a workshop led by Anthony Dunne and Fiona Raby, inspired by Alan Lightman's book Einstein's Dreams. During the workshop, we designed objects reflecting the environments from the book. The golden tunnel functions as an elongated speaker, transferring sounds from one location deep into the Boisbuchet forest and viceversa, fostering a sense of connection between disparate places.
Tailored for a character in the book, this object represents future dwellers inhabiting the present—mysterious, subdued individuals capable of altering our destiny with their actions or words. Its purpose is to evoke a sense of voyeurism, sparking curiosity among observers about occurrences on the other side, provoking the unsettling notion of being watched or listened to.
