How could music festivals engage, promote, and let people think about sustainability?
Möhköfantti for VISIO Festival is a 10-meter playful couch that reuses more than 160 beer crates, over a hundred kilos of textiles and clothes, and several meters of climbing ropes.
The couch provides a space for interaction, rest, and fun for festival-goers to activate it as a playground. The fabrics came from recycling centers, the ropes were a donation from the bouldering centers due to their state, and the beer boxes were elements the festival had after emptying them. The result was a piece unique in its shape and color palette due to the pieces found in recycling centers, that emphasize the special beauty and diversity of using recycled materials. After use, the beer crates will be reused, the fabrics and clothing will return to the recycling centers, and the ropes will be recycled. This collaboration intends to involve more sustainable actions that generate a neutral impact on our daily activities.
